Non NHS Services

Private Work Fees

Medical examinations for HGV and PSV Licences and for pre-employment are not paid for by the NHS. Some insurance forms such as the certificates for Elderly Drivers Insurance appear deceptively simple but need a full medical examination for their completion. Examinations of this nature take time and therefore a fee has to be charged. A special appointment will be required and the fee payable at the time of the examination.

Some Life Insurance companies may also require a medical to be undertaken and this will need a special appointment. The fee in this case is usually payable by the Insurance company concerned.

For Passports, Travel/Holiday Cancellation, Fitness to Attend/Not Attend are also classed as Non-NHS work and will incur a charge to the patient.

Please allow a minimum of two weeks for completion or longer if your registered GP is on leave.

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
